FLOWER GARDEN

The dodecatheon or American cowslip thrives in rich soil in cool places. Seeds are sown in a frame in spring. The Meadia variety is suitable for border or rockery, being a hardy perennial 15 inches high, with drooping reflexed lilac flowers. Other varieties are Clevelandii, giganteum, album, and frig id um.
