FLOWER GARDEN

The name is locally applied to two distinct varieties of flowers. One is a form of the species of buttercup known as Ranunculus acris which produces double yellow flowers. It thrives in ordinary border soil. The other is a variety of Ranunculus aconitifolius which bears double white flowers; this plant, which is known also as Fair Maids of France, likes moist soil and flourishes by the waterside.
