BLUEBELL Flower

BLUEBELL

The wild hyacinth that flowers in the woods in spring is popularly known as the bluebell. It improves with cultivation if grown in cool shady places with a moist soil. The bulbs are best planted deeply (6 in. deep is not too much), and when suited will send up an abundance of deep blue spikes year after year. There are many varieties, some bearing pale blue, some white, flowers.

See Harebell; Hyacinth; Scilla.
