BOUGAINVILLEA. This is a greenhouse climbing plant, a native of South America. As it loses its leaves in winter, it is valuable because it does not interfere with the admission of sunlight into the house for the benefit of other subjects. Its rose-colored flowers are borne in bracts from spring till summer. The ordinary potting soil suits it admirably. It thrives in a temperature which may vary from 55° to 70°, according to the season. The shoots should be hand pruned in spring.
